GreenSync welcomes new Chairman Mark Woodall

GreenSync is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Woodall as Chairman of the board, effective immediately. Mr Woodall will take over from inaugural Chairman Neil Gibbs who has led the board since 2012.

A leader in the development and financing of renewable energy and clean technologies for nearly 25 years, Mr Woodall is well placed to help lead GreenSync into its next phase, as the company looks to expand into international markets.

GreenSync CEO Phil Blythe welcomed the appointment and said Mr Woodall brings with him extensive international and financial markets experience.

“This is an important time in our growth and development as a company and it’s wonderful to welcome a new Chairman with such international experience. Having been in the climate and energy domain for more than 20 years, Mark is going to be able to accelerate our development as we move to the next stage and look to markets around the world,” he said.

Dr Blythe paid special tribute to outgoing chairman Neil Gibbs and the lasting impact he has made on GreenSync in his six years as Chairman.

“Neil to me will never leave the company. He’s been here with me right from the start and has helped us create GreenSync into what it is today. He’s helped us shape the Australian market and he should take credit for the amazing things we’ve done here in Australia,” he said.

“As we now take the next step and look to expand internationally, Neil found this was the right time for him to step away, but he will always stay part of the GreenSync family.”

Mr Gibbs added, “It has been an honour supporting GreenSync for the last six years.  Its work in creating tomorrow’s energy markets is well underway, but there remains much more to do. I wish GreenSync every success as it works with its energy industry partners to deliver a rapid pivot to renewable energy.”

GreenSync is also pleased to announce the appointments of new directors, John Clifford and Ben Gust, with Dr Blythe thanking outgoing director Kevin Holmes for his commitment and dedication to GreenSync over the last few years.

“We’ve been very fortunate to work with some wonderful leaders in the industry and we are thankful to Kevin for his guidance in that time. As we move towards an exciting future for GreenSync we look forward to now working with both John Clifford and Ben Gust who bring with them impressive experience across the sector,” said Dr Blythe.

“These changes to the board position the company to better pursue its global growth ambitions.”
