AutoDR trial begins

GreenSync deploys its Cloud based Demand Response communications platform with Ergon Energy as part of an 18 month trial.

The trial that went live in the buildings of Townville today represents the first demonstration of automated demand response in Australia. Together with Honeywell, GreenSync is providing OpenADR enabled technology that demonstrates the technology and economics of automated demand response in commercial buildings around Townsville.

The GreenSync platform captures data from several sources across Ergon Energy, including the buildings, feeders and substations around Townsville to present a wholistic picture of what demand response is, and how each building is participating. The second stage of the trial will be to better understand how the automation systems within buildings can react to peaks in the electricity grid, and to assist in maintaining energy supply across the the city.
